Instructions - How To

Batteries: The batteries come in two different colors (black or white).  These units have a capacity of 280mah.  Automatic batteries cut off after 5 to 6 seconds of vapor production.  Manual batteries have a button that needs to be pressed while you inhale.  These batteries will not cut off until approximately 8 seconds or until the button is released (whichever is sooner).  Casual users will find that one battery is sufficient for a days worth of usage while moderate to heavy users will find that they need a second charged battery or a Personal Charging Case to get them through the day.

Personal Charging Case:  The Personal Charging Case doubles as a portable charger and storage case while on the go.  This unit has a built in rechargeable battery that is charged via a USB port or the USB Charger that is included in the starter kits.  When fully charged, the internal unit will provide enough power to recharge a 280mah battery 4 to 5 times.  The Personal Charging Case or PCC will store one battery (with cartomizer removed) and two cartomizers, perfect for a moderate to heavy users daily requirements.

USB Passthrough: The USB Passthrough is designed to be used in place of the battery.  The cartomizer is threaded directly onto the USB Passthrough and a USB port on your computer provides the voltage.  USB Passthroughs have two advantages.  The first is that you never have to worry about having a charged battery; as long as you are near a computer or USB outlet, you can plug in and use the device regardless of the charge state of your batteries.  The second advantage of the USB Passthrough is that USB ports provide a consistent 5V of power.  E-cigarette batteries usually top out at 4.2V when fully charged and then taper off as they are used.  The higher the voltage the more vapor that is produced.  So the USB Passthrough provides the most consistent and highest amount of vapor.

Charger: The charger is a push in type charger where you simply push the threaded ended of the battery into the charger.  There is no need to twist or thread the battery into the charger, simply insert the battery you are ready to charge.  Once the battery is inserted into the charger, the LED on the tip of the battery will blink four times indicating that the charger has recognized the battery.  Typically batteries ship with more than a 50% charge so the included instruction manuals suggested charge time of 8 hours will only come in play when you have completely drained your battery.  The initial charge time will only takes a couple hours.

The USB portion of the charger has a red LED and a blue LED.  When the LED switches to blue, the battery is charged and ready for use.  Often times when you first receive your starter kit, you will find that the charger immediately goes to blue when the battery is inserted.  This is due to the fact that batteries typically ship fully charged.  The USB portion of the charger can be inserted into the supplied AC transformer or directly into a USB port on your computer.  The AC transformer also has two different color LEDs.  A yellow LED indicates that the charger is in use, while a green LED indicates a fully charged battery is connected.

Cartomizers: Cartomizers are shipped in sealed packages of five.  Each individual cartomizer has a silicone cap on each end.  Prior to use remove both caps and thread the open end of the cartomizer onto the threaded side of the battery.  A cartomizer is composed of a disposable atomizer that heats up and vaporizes the e-liquid that is stored in the batting material inside the cartomizer, thus producing vapor.  Each individual cartomizer typically lasts the average user one day.  This is based loosely on a user who smokes one pack a day or less of traditional analog cigarettes.

Refilling Cartomizers:  These cartomizers are designed to be disposed of after use.  Some users prefer to refill their cartomizers with e-liquids.  If you wish to refill your cartomizers simply remove the hard plastic tip (the end opposite the side that is threaded on to the battery) with a paper clip.  The plastic cap comes off and inside you will find a silicone o-ring and batting material.  You can add as much liquid as the batting material will hold and use the cartomizer several more times before disposing of it.  It is best to let the refilled cartomizer sit for an hour or so before using as this time is needed for the batting material to properly absorb all the added e-liquid.  Failure to do so will often result in a burnt taste which is result of the atomizer heating up the dry batting material and burning it.  It is best to discard any cartomizer that exhibits this burnt flavor as it is likely to not go away.
